AGREEMENT FOR VOLUNTARY RELEASE, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

I request permission to participate in foxhunting and/or other equine related activities (including, but not limited to, hunter trials, hunter paces, pony camp ((including non-equine activities such as swimming and walking)), steeplechase racing, cross-country horseback lessons and ring lessons at the Green Spring Valley Hounds stable (collectively referred to as “GSVH activities”) with the Green Spring Valley Hounds, Inc. subject to the Rules and Regulations thereof. In consideration of the grant of permission to participate in GSVH ACTIVITIES, I, for myself, my personal representatives, heirs, next of kin, spouse, assigns, guardians and legal representatives, DO HEREBY:

1. Understand that my participation in GSVH ACTIVITIES contains DANGER AND RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH and that there is INHERENT DANGER IN THESE ACTIVITIES WHICH I APPRECIATE AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME. I have observed these activities, and I know as well that other participants pose a danger to me. Nevertheless, I VOLUNTARILY ELECT TO ACCEPT ALL RISKS connected with my participation in GSVH ACTIVITIES.

2. RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Green Spring Valley Hounds, Inc. and its Masters of Foxhounds, officers, directors, members, employees, guests or any landowners, landholders or other persons making property available to the Green Spring Valley Hounds, Inc. (the “Releasees”) from any and all claims and liabilities arising out of the actions or omissions of Releasees or any other participant in GSVH ACTIVITIES which cause the undersigned injury, death or property damage, regardless of the legal basis for any such claim or liability. I hereby covenant to hold Releasees harmless and indemnify Releasees for any claim, action, judgment or expense (including reasonable attorney’s fees) Releasees may incur arising out of my participation in GSVH ACTIVITIES.

3. This Agreement shall remain in effect from year to year until revoked in writing by the signor. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland. I agree that this Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of Maryland and that, if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall continue in full legal force and effect.

FURTHER, I CERTIFY AS FOLLOWS: (i) I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT; (ii) I UNDERSTAND IT IS A RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS; AND (iii) I UNDERSTAND THAT I ASSUME ALL RISKS OF GSVH ACTIVITIES. I VOLUNTARILY SIGN MY NAME, EVIDENCING MY ACCEPTANCE OF THE ABOVE PROVISIONS.
